Three women’s unique perspective on the roles they played in the Pink Floyd story and what it meant for them to experience the band’s phenomenal success... from behind the wall.

Three women from very different places and backgrounds experienced the phenomenon that was Pink Floyd from the point of view of an insider, having a share of what many of us seek in life—fame, wealth, glamour. This documentary considers the unique perspective of women who were both observers and participants in Pink Floyd's legendary story, each in their own way:

 

· Ginger, wife of guitarist and singer David Gilmour

· Franka, wife of keyboard player Rick Wright
· Durga McBroom, backing vocalist for the band

These three women experienced Pink Floyd's stardom from behind the wall and for them it was more than the band, the concerts and the rock and roll lifestyle. This documentary will explore their unique contribution to the band's history and the events that surrounded it, and the roles they played of wife, mother and lover, and much else besides, are those that reflect women in society then and now.

Their stories address issues that concern us all and asks questions that we all seek answers to about the nature of happiness, love and the real meaning of success. Drawing on their experiences, Women Behind the Wall will explore major issues that women were, and still are, facing today.

Drawing on the personal archives of the three women, interviews with them and other women connected to the band, as well as statements from those who knew them, this documentary will offer a unique insight into the legend that is Pink Floyd, one of the greatest bands in rock history.

Women Behind The Wall is a documentary film that will celebrate female strength and be an inspiration for all.
